Me and my darling friend, Roselyn Yap from Billy & Rose and INSPIRE foods.
Roselyn Yap is one of those treasures that truly represents what makes the Australian Food Industry so dynamic. A passionate, self-confessed Foodie who found herself with a Business Degree and a 'hunger' for all things that taste good. Not just good, bloody good!
Whether it's her Macadamia Satay Dip (also a fab rub for chicken and fish) from her INSPIRE food range, or that velvety rich Organic Chocolate Mousse (at last, dessert with virtue!), from her familial-inspired Billy & Rose line, this woman knows and makes GREAT food!
Our on-air tastings may have been an obvious spruik of her fabulous product range for your home, but to me it represented so much more. I carried most of the INSPIRE range in my own deli, back in the day, and marvelled at how this much smaller, independent producer/supplier managed to stay one step ahead of the competition. Not only that, her relationship with her goods is intimate. She was one of a handful who could actually tell me where each product was from, the people behind it, the inspiration, heck, if it were wine I would say the 'terroir'!
